DCF Is On The Go This Fall
We returned for the sixth straight year to come alongside our partners at the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission in San Marcos de Colon, a small town in the southern part of Honduras near the border with Nicaragua. The team worked hard delivering dental care, but also had time to enjoy the people of this community as they celebrated Honduran independence with parades for three straight days. In addition, many of the team members went home with a pair of custom made boots. Pictured below are some pictures with the DCF team that served in Honduras in September.
In October, Dr. Bill went to Ecuador with a medical-dental team from Global Health Outreach. In contrast to the spring break trip to Quito, this team served in a small town called Gualaquiza in the southern part of the country. The trip to reach this site was beautiful, but the mountain roads were not what people from the low-country are accustomed. This trip was made special by the presence on the team of a dentist that Dr. Bill had met many years ago when he was a student at the University of Oregon dental school and a physician who was a classmate of Dr. Bill’s son at MUSC.
In both of these trips, God’s presence and provision were most evident. Our travel went smoothly, many patients were treated, everyone stayed healthy and most of all, God’s love was spread abroad through the Holy Spirit.
Thanks so much for your continuing support of DCF activities.
