What a journey! Little did we know way back in the early 2000s what God would accomplish when the vision of starting a ministry to dental students at MUSC first began to take root. One step led to another, doors were opened, and DCF was born.

The vision for DCF is to connect with dental students over shared Christian values while using a mutual desire to learn through service. Our first international mission trip was to the Dominican Republic in March of 2003. Since that time, hundreds of dental students have participated and thousands of dental patients have received treatment. On campus, challenging talks have been presented, fellowship has been enjoyed, the Bible has been studied, and innumerable meals have been shared.

Here are some highlights from just this year.

  • Over 25 students and 20 dentists on our Ecuador trip
  • Highest attendance at a lunch and learn (100+!)
  • Organic bible studies forming among friend groups
  • Students involved in local churches

We’d love to invite you to our Alumni Dinner on August 18th. We’ll have a time for food, drinks, stories, games, and prayer for the future especially in praying that the Lord will raise up someone to take a lead in DCF to ensure its ongoing.  If interested, please reach out to dentalcommunityfellowship@gmail.com

What does the future hold? Only God knows, but we know WHO holds the future. It’s exciting to think ahead while remembering the challenge to live one day at a time.  God’s Word in 1 Cor 2:9  tells us, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”. So, so true!
