The 2018 Honduras trip will take place Sept 15-23 2018. The cost is $750 for students and $850 for all others. These costs do not include air travel.
DCF will travel to San Marcos de Colon in Honduras. This will be our 10th year serving in this beautiful small town close to the southern part of the country near the Nicaraguan border. In previous years we have rendered preventive and restorative care along with extractions to a wide range of patients.
Our partner organization Good Samaritan Baptist Mission runs a large primary and secondary school and we hope to be able to serve many of the young people. You can click here to learn more about GSBM. San Marcos is a safe town with friendly residents. Our accommodations are very clean and comfortable. The founder of the mission is from Georgia and she has taught the locals how to cook southern style. The food is wonderful! Also, if anyone is interested in having custom boots made, this is the place.
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere and most of the patients that we treat can’t afford even basic dental care. Honduras provides a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and serve God.
Good Samaritan Baptist Mission
This mission organization was founded in 1968 by husband and wife Bob and Joan Tyson from Villa Rica, Georgia. They host mission groups year round, plant churches, raise money too feed the poor, and fund a private Christian school for children whose tuition, room and board, clothing and meals are supported by sponsors. For mission teams like DCF, they provide room and board, hearty meals, transportation, and areas for fellowship and worship.
